And how can one not smile looking at that pup sitting in the chair? The Portuguese designer put lots of thought into the details, like the wide seat and back so you have room for not only your bum, but your bag, books, or even a coat to sit by you or to hang on the back.

Benchchair from German designer Thomas Schnur for Outdoorz Gallery takes its inspiration from the famous Monobloc Chair but puts a new spin on it. The chair’s silhouette is stretched, elongating it into an almost abstract shape. What was once a chair, is now a bench. The past few days have been spent visiting with relatives, and the subject of home decor came up. This led to the talk of history repeating itself, with my mom and aunt discussing how furniture trends from when they were younger have been coming back.

And one of those they mentioned was the Butterfly Chair, so I thought why not look around and see how it’s being used? I love that it works both indoors and outdoors, in canvas, cowhide or with a sheepskin. It’s no wonder that such a chair has made it back – in my opinion, at least.
