The Japan Collection rugs designed by Enrique Eguino for Alfombras Veo Veo are inspired by Japanese locations, culture, and tradition. They pixelate an image and create these fun rugs that at first glance look like they are designed with random colors. Link Outdoor has just released a new fabric collection designed by Doug & Gene Meyer, perfect for use with their new furniture collection designed by Doug Levine. It’s nice to see something more modern for outdoor instead of the traditional solids, checks and oversized florals. These will be so fun next to the pool (if only I had a pool…).

Håus Design

Håus Design launched their Monarchy collection during Valencia Design Week , made of basic yet timeless pieces including tables, lighting, and seating. King Harold is a table or desk with slots on its surface, designed to use some of the Håus Design lamps or potentially any other modular pieces. The Queen Margaret chair includes all the features of the other furniture in the set but has a small textile detail in the seat back. Little Eva is a modern LED task lamp that fits nicely into the slots on the surface of the Monarchy collection tables. The twisted cable gives it a more interesting silhouette.

Design legend Ross Lovegrove was the keynote speaker at this year’s IDSwest conference in Vancouver and our correspondent Aaron De Simone of I HEART LUXE sat down with Ross to talk about what he’s up to, balance, self-doubt, and the never-ending design to-do list. Lovegrove’s first solo show in Italy, Endless , recently opened at Cardi Black Box gallery in Milan, featuring fine art works deriving from Lovegrove’s personal research brought forward with the Liquid Collection, which was included in the exhibition Endurance at Phillips De Pury in New York back in 2007.
