    Copenhagen has a mission and that mission is to become the cleanest city in Europe before 2015. We all know huge goals require enormous measures so Vipp created a mega bin that is constructed 8:1 in scale of their original pedal bin – that’s 8.2 feet (2.5 meters) tall and over 6 feet (2 meters) wide! The mega bin will be on display throughout the city as a reminder to keep Copenhagen clean and green. Check it out on its journey: The mega bin weighs 1763.7 lbs.

    While in Copenhagen last year, we had a chance to stop off at the Danish Design Center to see Denmark by Design . The exhibit shows the development in Danish design from 1945 to 2010, with iconic pieces popular in the homes, workplaces and public arena from the time it was introduced to today. The exhibit starts out with Kay Bojesen’s wooden toy monkey, an assortment of LEGO bricks, and Arne Jacobsen’s City Hall clock, designed in 1956. The aluminum coffee and water jugs were designed by Erik Herlow in 1955. See the aqua nesting bowls in the foreground?

    Todd Bracher is founder of Todd Bracher Studio , is a Designer and Educator currently based in New York City after ten years working in Copenhagen, Milan, Paris and London. His works have been curated by some of the most prestigious brands around the world from furniture design and table top, to interiors and architecture. His work has been included in major exhibitions around the world and has been pinned as “America’s next Great Designer” by the NY Daily News among being named Designer of the Year in 2008. His experience ranges from working independently, heading Tom Dixon’s London design studio, acting as Professor of Design at L’ESAD in Reims France, to cofounding of the experimental collaboration ‘to22’, to most recently his appointment as Creative Director of the global luxury brand Georg Jensen

    The Roulade is my design find today, and I think it’s a really great one. In what I can best describe as Togo meets Chesterfield, this piece combines multiple styles and influences into one captivating and intriguing piece. It’s the work of Kilo Design, a Copenhagen based, idea-driven industrial design firm.
