A former neckwear and scarf designer for Bill Blass, Calvin Klein, and DKNY, he went off on his own — in an entirely new direction: the home. Dima Loginoff for Artex

Russian designer Dima Loginoff has created a new collection of ultra-contemporary sofas for the Italian company ARTEX . The four designs are: Confusion, Not too late, Kisses, and Diamond Lounge. Each style has its own unique shape and look. They may not be everyone’s cup of tea but they definitely make a statement and give people something to talk about.

Friday Five with Samuel Wilkinson

Industrial designer Samuel Wilkinson , who opened his own studio in late 2007, has designed a number of award-winning items, including the Plumen 001 light bulb ( a collaboration with design brand Hulger), which earned him the grand prize from the London Design Museum of “2011 Design of the Year” and the “Black pencil” from the D&AD. His work spans the range, from furniture to accessories, and even includes a tech-y terrarium, the Biome , that uses a smartphone or iPad to control its climate, water level and nutrients. Margarita Chair by Vanja Bazdulj

We featured the first part of the collection last year and most recently her vases entitled Big Wonkys (greatest name ever). Copper Mirrors by Michael Anastassiades

These copper mirrors from London-based designer Michael Anastassiades are simply stunning. Copper covers a wooden frame in these geometric shapes that extend from the wall giving a far more beautiful look than your average mirror. They are minimal in design but with an edge. Each of the three styles comes in a limited edition of 10.
