    Designers Rui Pereira and Ryosuke Fukusada took a look at how disconnected society has become with technology becoming more and more prevalent and decided to use fire as a means to bring people back together again. Their design,  Faro , is a fireplace that aims to increase socializing by having a place to gather around. The mini fireplace can be used indoors or outdoors with the use of an ethanol burner or regular wood for outside. Exploring materials such as red clay, hammered copper and aluminum, the design evokes a feeling of those traditional wood stoves.

    Giovanni Talocci has designed a line of freestanding bioethanol fireplaces and planters for the Italian manufacturer Falper . The best part about these minimalist designs is that they are portable. Instead of everyone gathering around a built-in fireplace, the fire can be moved to wherever the people are – each piece comes with a carrying handle.

    Borja García designed the Llar fireplace collection for Gandia Blasco . He says, “We wanted to work on a product that would transfer concepts more akin to inside a house, like siting round the fire, to the outdoor space and Llar is a response to this idea.
