When it comes to creating the most relaxing environment inside ones bedroom there is a lot that needs to be accounted for in regards to the furniture such as; colors, shapes, styles, and size. Putting a relaxing and stylish bedroom together takes something that most people look past, traditional bedroom furniture.

Traditional bedroom furniture is more than just the average bedroom set; it is bringing old world charm in and turning it into new world design. There comes a time where not all bedroom sets need to be placed in the same room, sometimes a mixture of one set and another is ideal for many reasons. Mixing and matching different bedrooms sets will give off a more relaxing feel as well as spread ones dollar further.

Before buying bedroom furniture think about these few things. How much furniture do you need? How much space do you have? What color, shape, size, and style do you want? Once you can answer these three questions you are ready to pick out your new bedroom furniture.

Here are two tips about buying bedroom furniture that will surely help you out.

Feel free to buy outside your comfort zone – Most people only buy what they have bought before and this is why style never changes in some households. Spend more than normal, buy a different style such as contemporary bedroom furniture, use different colors; these are all ways to change the style inside your bedroom.

Mix styles not colors – For the longest time mixing colors was very popular but now mixing styles such as traditional and modern or contemporary and antique.

Buying bedroom furniture is a fun experience, just remember, bedroom furniture is like buying a new car, if you don’t love it at the store you won’t love it in your room.

Modern design has spread through home furnishings over time and over the last few years, planters are finally getting their dues. Landscape designer Shannon Lester started Steel Life and has come out with a line of bold and bright planters as part of The Desert Collection . The pieces are individually made using salvaged and upcycled metal. The Shallow Root Vessel (first image also) eliminates the need for lots of soil and water due to its shallow depth, making it perfect for succulents. I love that you don’t have to use them exclusively as planters – the various-sized Mod Dish designs ( Mezzo Mod Dish above) are a great dish to hold fruit or any of your collections.

German product designer Anne Boenisch creates home furnishings that are both functional, and most definitely, sculptural. Most of the products contain strong geometric qualities with beautiful shapes and lines. These are her latest pieces: The MOTION collection consists of a folding stool and table that utilize stainless steel bolts in the frame and seat, allowing the piece to be “stretched and squeezed” horizontally. I love that it can be flattened when not in use.

Cup is a tasteful basin sink designed by Italian company Art Ceram. Art Ceram was founded in 1987 and provides a full collection of bathroom furnishings, from sinks and toliets to towel racks and shower plates.

Inspired by the shape of a coffee cup, the Cup is a modern washbasin with a interesting design not typically found in the bathroom. It is available in all white or in a black exterior with a white interior. As shown in the first image above, the loop that represents the handle of the cup is a handy place to hang a towel.

Cup is a contemporary sink with minimalistic appeal. It has a deep basin and a spot for tolietries or soap on the top. With clean lines and sleek colors, the Cup is a great choice for the modern bathroom. Check out Art Ceram’s website for more contemporary bathroom furnishings.
