From designer Etienne Esmenjaud, founder of the UK-based design collective Desinature , comes Lily , a reversible lampshade that will add some serious color to your interiors. Flip the petals over when assembling and you have an outer white shade with a barely visible peek of color from the inside. The flat-packed fixture assembles in minutes with your choice of which way you want to go – bold (color out) or subtle (color in)

A lamp made of spoons ? Sure, why not!? UK-based designer Clive Roddy designed this lamp with a lampshade made of spoons. Inspired by pinecones (clever!) when took a visit to Yosemite National Park, Roddy thought he’d try to translate it into a lamp with 115 stainless steel desert spoons. The tripod oak base acts as a pedestal for the sculpture that sits atop it

Initiated by N°111 with François Bauchet and Eric Jourdan , the Quatrième Mur was a satellite exhibition during the St Etienne Design Biennial 2010. Located in a former cinema, three ex-Saint Etienne students invited two of their ex-lecturers for a collective exhibition of everyday objects. The arrangement of these objects in a scenic, stage-like way invited the viewers to think differently about the relationships between these objects and themselves. From N°111: The fourth wall evokes an intellectual wall separating the actor on the stage and the spectator in the room. The installation of the objects on a stage puts distance between them and the spectator

Based in Warsaw, Agnieszka Lasota has been working a fascinating project called Furniture with Memory where she takes well-worn old furniture and encases it in electro-polarized glass and then projects digitized images of what it would have looked like when it was new, in pristine condition, and being enjoyed. Uniting past with present is something Lasota does well; the Wreath Project involves a traditional celebratory wreath being used as a lampshade. This Polish designer does not set out to marry art with design on her journey to create and shies away from too much definition.
