Today we hit SoHo and Orange County, New York for a day-in-the-life of Aaron Lown, co-founder of BUILT . First known for their neoprene wine totes, which debuted at the New York International Gift Fair in 2004, the company expanded into baby bottle and lunch totes the following year, and laptop cases in 2007.

Conceived for apartments and small spaces, the Farringdon Laptop Desk by Leonhard Pfeifer for Woodman features a sliding work-top that can be extended to increase the work surface, while minimizing the footprint of the desk. It won the “best product” award for the Loft category at Maison & Objet in Paris this past month.

Key Mouse

While laptops offer a lot of convenience, the one thing I sometimes miss is the set of number keys found on the right of any standard keyboard. Well, apparently I am not the only one to notice, and designer Sun Lihui addresses this in the Key Mouse. The Key Mouse is plenty portable, which it needs to be to keep up with your laptop, and it’s also got a fun design that’s impossible to notice. It’s actually a bluetooth mouse (another thing missing from laptops!), but when you open its retractable hood you find a set of number keys inside.

So this is just a concept and I don’t even have great pics, but I had to share it with your because it’s so smart. Every once in a while I come across something that I can’t figure out why no one else has thought of it (but then again, neither did I!) and this is one of them.

This design from Zhang Shouze lets you forget about laptop cases and sleeves and maybe even your briefcase. It simply folds up so that you can take it with you no matter where you need to go.
