My parents have been living in London for the past five years, but have kept their home in the States for when they come back to visit, and when they come back for good. They had never cleaned out a majority of their junk – until yesterday. My mom called 1-800-JUNK and they went on a seriously impressive decluttering binge.

It’s amazing the stuff you find when you declutter your life. I had so much stuff there of my own that I hadn’t cleared out and I found myself wanting to keep many things, but I hadn’t seen them in 7+ years, so why bother? Once I came out of that mentality and into cleaning mode, it was much easier. I’m now motivated to declutter as much as I can in my own home.

I don’t want to make this a New Year’s resolution, but decluttering and getting organized is definitely something I want to do in the New Year, and for the rest of the years to come.

Have you decluttered lately? Or made any similar resolutions/commitments for the New Year?

The London-based duo of CoWorks combined their architecture (Tom Brooksbank) and art (Allan Collins) backgrounds to create the DoReyMeFarSoLaaTiDoe collection of four geometric objects, one being the Me-Far Bowls . The eight, waxed copper bowls can nest together or be displayed apart. They can also be stacked in a variety of ways to create all kinds of neat configurations. Each bowl starts with the same triangular base and they gradually begin to close up the smaller the bowls go in sequence – they also get smaller in size. Each piece reflects off the others to make some seriously beautiful reflections.

London based furniture designer Vanja Bazdulj creates experimental pieces for her Rough & Ready collection. We featured the first part of the collection last year and most recently her vases entitled Big Wonkys (greatest name ever). The Margarita Chair is the latest piece to join the innovative and imperfect group of furniture.
