Like the cool Sony Fusion I wrote about a few weeks ago, the Sony Sound Lounge also combines several functions into one useful and chic piece of furniture. A bench and a CD player in one, this unique design by Sharifah Nasser is certainly something that deserves a second look here today. At first I was thinking “cool idea but who still buys CDs?!” A bit more research revealed though that the Sony Sound Lounge is also MP3 compatible, which makes more sense. To operate this music playing bench, simply slide the glass tray and then turn it on.

From there you can control your settings from a touch screen menu.
This double-sided cabinet by Jon Stam and Ivo de Kogel contains sixteen drawers for storing items. The engraved pattern you see is based on QR codes (codes linking to digital data that can be decoded to allow digital photos and video to pop when interfaced through a computer screen or camera phone). If I owned this cabinet, I’d have fun trying to figure out what items to store in each drawer.
