Swiss architects Studioforma are no stranger to the furniture and product design world . They have quite a bit of furniture designs, but their new Arachnide chair took me by surprise. With its long insect-like legs, I knew it was spider-inspired before I even knew its name. Besides the spider-like silhouette, the contrast in materials—smoked oak and aluminium—were also a major inspiration in its design and achieving the desired effect

The Filomena wall lamp project started like a synthesis game about lamp concept by the team at nadlab , an Italian design firm started by two friends - Lapo De Vita, a craftsman decorator, and Claudio Mochi, an industrial designer. After careful research of materials and techniques, the duo came up with a really cool idea on how to craft a functional lamp silhouette from a lamp cord. Using a thin sheet of PMMA (polymethacrylate), the CNC-milled panel works as a frame and as a support for the light, acting as a guide for wire placement. Once assembled, the system can be framed on the wall and connected using a 240V wall socket as easy as a table lamp. The light source is a LED bulb white or RGB with remote control (not included)

Håus Design launched their Monarchy collection during Valencia Design Week , made of basic yet timeless pieces including tables, lighting, and seating. King Harold is a table or desk with slots on its surface, designed to use some of the Håus Design lamps or potentially any other modular pieces. The Queen Margaret chair includes all the features of the other furniture in the set but has a small textile detail in the seat back. Little Eva is a modern LED task lamp that fits nicely into the slots on the surface of the Monarchy collection tables. The twisted cable gives it a more interesting silhouette.
