The Traces Tables by Italian designer Uto Balmoral for manufacturer Officinanove are clean in design but with that extra something that makes them unique. The legs are hand-milled steel and are not just for structural purposes, they add an asymmetrical design element to the tabletops. The table legs leave a “trace” of color on the tabletops, giving them their name. Each leg on the square and rectangular tables is 10cm off from the corners, which goes against the norm on most tables.

The French design firm ARCA , lead by young designers Erick Demeyer and Steven Leprizé, are launching a small edition furniture line this year. The Cl Collection was inspired by one design element: a bend. Each piece of unique furniture features the signature element as a connector between straight pieces of wood, giving it a puzzle-like feel. Stone panels are then added to certain pieces of the furniture to create the tabletops and shelves.
