Christine Ferrara from Call of the Small , a blog that focuses on modern miniature design, recently decided to DIY her own modern dollhouse using three lacquer tissue boxes she got at an outlet store. I love how the tissue openings serve as windows and a skylight.

Naom Fass is a product designer from Jerusalem who has created a seating system that keeps you connected. Segment is for those whose communication habits have changed. Whether seating with friends or alone, we often still spend time on our phones or laptops communicating and updating. Designed for these new habits, Segment is a modular communication solution in which each “segment” or seat can be connected to another segment to create different combinations depending on your needs.

Brooklyn-based designer Emily Vislocky sent us her recently completed Poke & Squeeze , a set of tables she calls “uncomfortably anthropomorphic.” Poke & Squeeze are two tables created out of the idea to add the softness of human interaction to hard wood. Made to go together, the drawer fronts are made from flexible dip-molded plastic. The drawers fit inside hardwood padauk and maple boxes, and sit atop ornate cast iron bases. The drawer pulls beckon users to engage with a surprisingly, and, perhaps, uncomfortably, human-like interface.
