Ugol Lamp by Yaroslav Misonzhnikov

Hailing from Saint Petersburg, Russia, product designer Yaroslav Misonzhnikov launched a new table lamp named Ugol . Ugol means “corner” in Russian and that’s just what the design utilizes when it’s set up. The simple, wooden pole-like form slips onto the corner of your desk or table and stays put with the help of the rectangular opening on one end.

DIY to Try: Awesome Pendant Lamp

In the mood for a weekend project? The acrylic bubbles and some gold leaf add a great touch to this simple IKEA lamp shade. I would love a larger version over my kitchen table, but really this lamp would look great anywhere. And to know you did it yourself in a quick and easy project would make it look even better!

For the tutorial on how to make this yourself, check out Pudel-design. Where will you put it??

M-Bamboo Table & M-Bench by Jennifer Newman Studio

Jennifer Newman Studio is well-known for a modern take on indoor-outdoor furniture and for their latest they are delving into the sustainable world using bamboo surfaces. The M-Bamboo Table comes with your choice of tabletops – a dark chocolate (above) that works inside or outside, and a light caramel (below) that’s made for inside use. The powder-coated aluminum M-Bench comes in a trapezoidal shape that mimics the form of the table. The outdoor tables are available in 3 sizes to seat 2, 3 or 4 people on each side, while the inside table comes as a long version only and seats 5 people on each side. Even though I seriously love the orange, the tables and benches are available in a wide variety of colors to suit your taste.

A New Lamp

A couple of months ago, the kind people over at AllModern sent me the awesome Artecnica Phrena Table Lamp you see above.

The base is a thin gold wire and the shade is a large and white, made of Tyvek construction – and it looks amazing in my bedroom! I haven’t decided if it will stay there, because my living room is full of gold and white accents and it would look even better there than where it is now. Initially, I wanted to put it on my desk, but that’s in the basement and this lamp is just too fabulous to hide!

In addition to this awesome lamp, AllModern has TONS of other home accessories and modern furniture if you’re in the post-holiday shopping mood!

What do you think of my new lamp? Any ideas for where I should put it?

ONE Perpetual Calendar Circles by Jeong Yong

Korean designer  Jeong Yong created this perpetual table calendar that’s made of three differently-sized rings. The biggest ring represents the days – the 31 units during which the sun rises and sets. The middle ring, for the months, represents the moon’s orbit around the Earth. And, finally, the smallest ring, with seven units, represents the days of the week, or as the designer says “the people who created the seven days of the week.” Held together with strong magnets, you can join up the month, day and week to keep you on track, but with the added bonus of a cool, desktop sculpture.

Extendable Table by Vidame Creation

This Extension Table  by Vidame Creation  is a pretty cool concept. It looks like an ordinary table, but it’s made of small slats of wood (or Corian) that open up and close through a mechanism that turns the individual pieces on their sides to expand the tabletop – like pushing over a row of dominoes.

Concrete Objects by 22

Sean Yu and Yi-ting Cheng began 22™ in 2005 with a desire to create items in both metal and concrete. Inspired by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the duo set out to rethink ways to use such an industrial material like concrete to make everyday items like clocks and pens. The 4th Dimension Table Clock has a concrete structure where the face spirals around and down like a staircase. The hands create shadows as them move around the tiered down face

Product Pick: Eden Coffee Table

It was absolutely love at first sight for me when I saw the beautiful Eden Coffee Table. What’s not to love about it? Low profile, full of texture and a glamorous metallic finish – I’ll take it!

The Eden is offered as a set of two center tables and in a side table as well, with many finish options also offered. The structure of it is made from mahogany and covered with polished brass, and then the top is completely engraved to resemble a tree. This modern coffee table is made by Boca do Lobo.

What do you think of this coffee table??
