Architect Scott Friedman turned to furniture-making after several years working as an architect in Denver, Colorado. Under the name Gitane Workshop , he designs and builds beautiful wooden furniture. He sent me over a few of his pieces and I fell for the uniquely constructed Coban Buffet . Just look at that base – it’s made from materials found on a farm including rusted plow heads

The Bend Sofa is a new seating system designed by Patricia Urquiola for B&B Italia . Shown at this year’s NeoCon , the contrast stitching makes the sofa appear to jump right out of a computer design program and into your living room. With its irregular shape, it creates a soft line that almost makes it seem in motion.

The Cubico table by Alessandro Di Prisco has one of my favorite features — nooks and crannies. I love anything that has special spots for books and magazines, such as the Lost in Sofa or the Applied Literature Table . As soon as I laid eyes on the Marea ceiling fan , I knew it was love at first sight. If only I had a pre-wired ceiling box for this beauty.
