Panton Chair Anniversary Competition and Charity Auction

Fifty years ago, Verner Panton designed the first single mold plastic chair with a curvaceous profile called the Panton chair. Since then it has become one of the most recognizable and classic designs to date. The only criteria was that the finished product must be movable by one man.

Sleepy Lamp by Studio Klass

The Sleepy Lamp was designed by Studio Klass for the company BUSSO for part of the Cosmopolitan design collection 2010. From the designers: Sleepy lamp originates from the attention to those gestures that we often do unintentionally without giving them too much care. These gestures often delineate the human behavior, particularly when they are related with the objects that surround us, to alter the function and using that in different ways from they have been thought from the beginning. This is the reason why we are fascinated with observing a stair, in its moment of non-usage, when leaning onto the wall to clear the space in which we work. In Sleepy lamp this particular moment is conceptually reread in a lazy and sleepy lamp that can’t help resting, creating a quiet and relaxing atmosphere around it.

Foundation by Benjamin Hubert

Benjamin Hubert is back with a new design, a bookshelf called Foundation for Heal’s . Foundation is made of a dark grey Valchromat with incorporated folded steel powder coated box files with matching leather pull handles. The combination of industrial materials and softer tactile details emphasizes the brutalist language while retaining a sense of tradition found in the leather bindings of books. Valchromat is a wood fiber board colored with organic dyes specifically developed and bonded with resin to ensure that the natural appearance and characteristics of the fiber remain in tact. The wood is sourced from forest waste and recycled pine.
