Anneau is a chair designed by Pierre Paulin from the 2010 Ligne Roset collection. It combines a simple ring base and a seat that seems to be floating. Anneau is evocative of Paulin’s “fauteuil 780,” also known as “Concorde.” One of his last creations, Anneau redefines the concept of the traditional lounge chair. The webbed suspension on the seat and back lie above a sculptural and sensual cast aluminum base, linked only by a doubled steel ring, resulting in a much lighter, almost ethereal design.

Nina Freudenberger is owner/principal of Haus Interior . She attended Rhode Island School of Design, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture. She moved to New York City to accept a position at the prestigious interior design firm Kondylis Design .

Italian designer Eugenia Minerva has created Petalo , a modern valet for Czech manufacturer Ton . Surprisingly, this submission comes just a few days after I posted the very first modern valet here on Design Milk. Created with the wood bending technique, Petalo is a very functional coat hanger: whilst looking simple and smart, in fact, provides much more space than a classical silent servant. This bookshelf designed by Manuel Welsky makes me slightly nervous for some reason. The shelves look like they’ve dealt with some shaking up by a disaster, but this design ensures that the piece is able to resist the weight of many books.
