Disposable plates are ubiquitous in the contemporary on-the-go style of life. Except that now, people have started thinking a little more about the environmental impact of disposable tableware. We previously posted about VerTerra , so it seems that leaf-based disposable plates are becoming the “it” throwaway dinnerware. Disposable plates by Hampi Products are eco-friendly, biodegradable and they have an attractive design. The production process is completely eco-sustainable, 100% chemical free and the product is compostable.

Moggit.com is the “guilty pleasure of the decorating world”, a blog dedicated to sending the design world one message: “Lighten up already!” Lifelong friends Joy and Janet are the design junkies behind it, who think that the design world has been taking itself way too seriously. Their mission? To take fugly design and decor to task on a daily basis (see below!) and even poke fun at some of the things that they love… Taxidermy. It is, without a doubt, our biggest personal design pet-peeve of all time. And we know we’re not alone.

The U Chair by Sylvain Willenz for Feld is a smart and elegant update of a classic cantilevered typology. It is a flat oval steel tubing which is bent into simple shapes to form the stackable structure, and is then upholstered with a high tech woven 3D fabric. The design is intentionally low tech and simple. http://www.feld.be
