Mini Moderns never ceases to amaze me with their creative wallpapers, pillows, rugs, and ceramics and their latest additions to the Buddha of Suburbia collection are no exception. The collection is inspired by all things to the east so Indian dhurries fit right in. Woven in Jaipur, the 100% cotton dhurries come in two styles, Backgammon and Zag, and are available in two colors each, Harvest Orange and Washed Denim, and the new pieces tie in with the rest of the collection perfectly. Zag Dhurrie – Harvest Orange The Zag pattern is both bold and graphic and combines a modern approach to a traditional craft making it work in any space. The Backgammon pattern is intricate and dynamic and would add a colorful punch to any floor.

Growing up, did you ever have one of those plastic green doormats with the daisies? We had one and I used to pop the daisies off it all the time, which used to drive my mom crazy. The Daisy Garden rug by Joe Jin brings me back to those days. Unlike those dollar store doormats, this rug isn’t made of plastic – it’s made of a soft, grass-like textile. And an added bonus: the artificial daisies can be removed and arranged in just about any pattern you’d like using a snap system.

A-Cute , designed by London design firm AndViceVersa , is a set that includes two chairs and a table that join together to form a sculptural, multi-faceted shape when not in use. Made from laser cut metal sheets that are hand folded based on digital prototyping, and then welded into the geometric solid of the finished product. The design is meant to push the boundaries of it being just a table when, in fact, it’s also a work of art. The outer artistic form conceals the chairs within its structure while maintaining the geometric shell

This series of cork and steel stools by Timothy John was designed for New Zealand fashion house, Thanks , who is just expanding into home fashions. Called Sidekick, the stools are reminiscent of old school beakers, the ones we used to use in chemistry class. A lightweight, portable stool, the design is inspired by the cork tops that are placed inside science beakers and the powder-coated steel base gives it a more glass-like transparent feeling

Young Brazilian furniture designer Humberto da Mata has worked with the Campana Brothers and showed some of his pieces in Milan during Salone del Mobile. His pieces are rooted in an exploration of texture and building layers with different materials. I love the colorful, playful nature of his pieces, especially the glove mirrors and stool. They’re kind of creepy, too.

3form is the king of really cool materials for use in the home and office, but my favorite is their Varia Ecoresin  line. These translucent panels are harder than glass and completely customizable.

Brazilian, London-based designer, artist and all-around maker Paulo Goldstein has lended his model-making talents to such films as The Fantastic Mr. Fox and Frankenweenie , but after receiving a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design from Central Saint Martins in London, it appears he is opening a whole new chapter. His graduate project, called ” Repair is Beautiful ” focuses on repairing broken objects from a craftsperson’s eye. Repaired Anglepoise He explains that this idea arose from solving every day frustrations, like encountering a broken object, and figuring out a way to repair it on our own.

Are you a chess player that also loves design? If so, the type(chess)set by Hat-trick Design was made for you. Gone are the generic chess pieces that come standard with every set, instead you’ll find them replaced with typographic letters, like K for King. The laser cut acrylic letters are based on the Hoefler Frere Jones typeface, Champion (Lightweight). To ensure stability, the Q and the P were redesigned.
