Today’s designer to check out is Emily Ruddo of Armonia Decors. We found her profile on Elle Decor and had to share all of the wonderful styles she transmits through her portfolio. Emily’s bio states that “her bicoastal design services are a unique blend of East Coast elegance and West Coast style.” And we love it!!

Whether your modern, traditional or transistional, Emily Ruddo incorporates all of the styles, as you can see above. The pops of color are the perfect amount in each room. View more on her website!

Recipe Radar: Pumpkin

This week’s Recipe Radar is the perfect edition of pumpkin recipes to keep on your radar for Fall.

It’s not too early for you, is it?!? We’re almost half-way through September!

Shown above: Pancakes / Soup / Pizza / French Toast / Syrup / Pesto / Risotto

I think I’ll make the pumpkin pancakes or french toast for breakfast and use the remainder of the pumpkin for the pumpkin spice syrup to enjoy a Fall latte later in the day. Will you be trying any of these, or any other pumpkin recipes?

Fall Entertaining: Candy Apple Bar

Here’s an entertaining idea that is great for adults and kids alike – a Candy Apple Bar! Because who doesn’t love candy apples? The blog I found these on suggested the idea as a wedding favor, but I think it’d be great for any sort of Fall party, especially for a Halloween party. Plus, this is the PERFECT way to get rid of the bags of apples you bring home from apple picking – a creative switch from apple pies and applesauce!

Also, the apples don’t have to be just candy – you can melt some caramels as well so that guests have the option of either topping. You could even melt some chocolates to provide another sweet layer over the candy and caramel. Top it off with sprinkles, crushed Reese’s, M&Ms, fruits – whatever you can think of!

If serving this for dessert and not as a favor, I would also consider setting out some ice cream, since the toppings go for both.

How would you implement the Candy Apple Bar into your Fall entertaining?

Why don’t you add a little texture, color and fun to your home or to a party by mixing up some tissue paper poms and globes? As tissue paper is available in endless amounts of colors, you can easily control the color scheme while saving big bucks by DIYing it up. If you are limited with the colors of the globe lanterns, why not paint them yourself?

What do you think about decorating with clusters of poms and globes? Would you incorporate them into your home, as in the first two images, or save them for party decor as seen in the last two images?

Glitzy Gold Decor

glitzy-gold-decor

Gold is a fun way to add some glitz and glamor to your decor. You can add it with bold pieces, like the tufted headboard and sofa or in more subtle ways, such as the glasses and the hand hook.

For me, there is a fine line for gold to be either glitzy or gaudy. While I love the gold tufted sofa above, I fear it would be much too gaudy in reality.

What are your thoughts on gold decor?

Even though it isn’t porcelain pottery, transform your bottles and cans to look like they are!

With just a little puffy paint and some spray paint, these everyday items are suddenly adorable tabletop displays. What a fun way to use puffy paints – especially since it doesn’t involve using them to outline iron-on transfers!

What do you think of this cute DIY from PS I Made This?
