Baines&Fricker ‘s SB03-1 rocker is the first piece in their SB03 series. I can’t wait to see the rest of the series! Made of elm and upholstered in harris tweed, looks like a really comfortable place to read a book or take a nap. Or read a book and then take a nap! The new Punti bench from Gaga & Design is a fun asymmetrical piece that consists of rings woven together in signature Gaga & Design style. As they mention, it’s “is roomy enough to seat three people and one cat.” Designed by Neil Nenner, the metal shapes are woven together with synthetic fibers to become one sturdy unit.

There’s something about Mondays that make you want to get up and organize your entire life. Well, some Mondays I feel like that. Others I just don’t want to get out of bed!
Anyways, jewelry organization is something I constantly struggle with. I bought a tray once to organize everything but I have no idea where that even is right now. There are tons of easy and stylish organization DIYs out there – several which I’ve talked about here before. But this DIY over at IHeart Organizing is easier than easy and can be made using an old frame that needs to be repurposed – or if you have a frame where the glass has broken – this is a great way to put it to use without wasting it!
Click over to IHeart Organizing for the full tutorial – one thats very easy to follow! My fiance and I are at Lowes or Home Depot all the time – so I will make a note of it to do this and finally get my jewelry organized. I’m thinking I might make one for earrings and then another with fun push-pins to hold all my necklaces. What do you think of this DIY?

I think my LEGO obsession is well documented by now so I immediately jumped for joy over this key hanger from Felix Grauer . Using some basic LEGO bricks you might have leftover from childhood and some easily obtained split rings, you could make your very own based off of this nifty design. I like how you can separate your keys out if you don’t want to carry them all and then just stack the LEGOs when you want to take more than one with you. Wall decals are a great alternative to wallpaper as they don’t damage your walls when they’re removed and you can change them the moment you get tired of your handiwork with little effort. While there are a lot of wall decals out there, it’s harder to find simple modular shapes that can create modern patterns like the Removable Wall Patterns from the Salt Lake City-based MUR . Currently the company sells triangles (hooray!) in a small and large size, each available in eight colors. Use their gallery to figure out what pattern you want to go with and let your imagination go wild coming up with your very own color scheme.

Remember that really unique rug we featured before where it looked like land you saw while peaking out of an airplane window? Designer Florian Pucher is back with a new, one-of-a-kind rug with a completely different look called LANDCARPET Hong Kong , made specifically to be auctioned off at Dorotheum in November. The new version displays Victoria Harbour and mainland China, alongside the island districts of Hong Kong.

Although not a new design, I just discovered it so it’s new to me! Japanese company BCXSY’s Seesaw bookshelf is a pretty neat concept. I bet you could put books you’ve read on one end and ones you’ haven’t read yet on the other. Which side would be heavier for you? BCXSY is the multidisciplinary design studio of designers Boaz Cohen and Sayaka Yamamoto . How would you arrange this shelf?

We all know PANTONE as being the #1 authority of all things color in the design industry and now they’ve released a new collection of real skin colors in their new PANTONE SkinTone Guide . The new guide was based off of “more than 1,000 human skin measurements” which lead to the 110 shades in the new library. Each large-sized swatch has perforation to allow for easy visual matching. Each color is assigned a four-digit PANTONE number where the first two reference the “hue or undertone of the skin” and the last two reflect the “tone or lightness and darkness of the skin.” This reminds us of Brazilian artist Angelica Dass’ Humanæ PANTONE/skin-matching project - check that one out. Faucets for bathrooms aren’t something I spend too much time thinking about, but I’m thinking maybe that should change. After all, sometimes it’s all about the details!
A modern faucet can really add to the style of the bathroom, especially when paired with a funky sink. What I like most about faucets, or taps as they are also called, is that it’s a really easy swap. You can swap out the tap in the sink and the shower for a coordinated and updated look. I might have to look into this over the weekend…how about you?
While I’m at it – I might look for a bowl-like sink as in the images above. What do you think about modern taps and sinks? If you’re interested in switching out your own, you can see different types of taps here.
