These separate furniture pieces by Dutch designer Mieke Miejer can be put together like a puzzle to become one large piece with some kind of identity crisis. The result: a cabinet with the engraved image of a chair. ©2010 Design Milk | Posted by Catrina in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook Furniture – Facebook – Design Milk – Home and Garden – Shopping

The forms apparent in the Capsule Collection from UK-based Deadgood are derived from a simple three-dimensional capsule shape and includes references to the solar system and 60’s space age adventure. I’m sure there are some people who aren’t fans of assembling and disassembling furniture when it involves tools. Fortunately for them, Óli Jóhann Ásmundsson designed this collection including furnishings that don’t require tools for putting them together and taking them apart for transport. As a result, there is less waste made during production. http://www.ojadesign.is ©2010 Design Milk | Posted by Catrina in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook Furniture – Facebook – Design Milk – Home and Garden – Shopping

This task chair has a gas lift beneath the seat in order to accommodate users of various heights. It has padded armrests in order to ease the user. It also includes five casters on the foundation. This makes it feasible for the user to roll easily from one place to the other while doing various tasks. Therefore, it is called a task chair. It also makes it simpler for the user to pull in toward an office desk in order to type, and then drive away when ready to leave the chair. Black colour is used to give a stylish, and elegant look, or perhaps a touch of mystery. This innovative light is designed to mimic a dandelion. Not only its fun shape, but also the way in which it “works”. The Secret of Light can be turned on by shaking it. To turn it off, blow on it as you would a dandelion’s petals. What’s really cool is that you can turn as many or as few petals as you want to adjust the amount of light.

This is another red dot awarding winning concept for now. It comes from designers Qin Xue, Cao iXiaoxiao, and Wei Hangshuai. See more here.
