London-educated, Mumbai-based architect and designer Avni Sejpal, of Studio Avni , brings her varied training, from graphic design to textiles to fashion, to every design she produces, including the Faceted Tactile Light Collection. Faceted Brass Chandelier – Bijoux Lights (first image also) Using traditional materials like brass, copper, stainless steel, and bronze, along with materials like PVC sheets, they are cut and then either linked or stitched together to form the geometric forms of each fixture. Designed by Pod Design principal designer Brooks Atwood, the Sylki Chair is made from super thin metal making it weigh in at just 8 lbs. Using just a single sheet of 100% recycled metal limits the amount of waste produced while also reducing the number of welds that go into the chair.

There’s just something about concrete in interior design that I may not ever get tired of. It could be because my fiance works in the concrete industry, so I’m used to hearing about it in buildings and trucks and all of his plant talk. Either way, you can’t deny the fabulousness of the Concrete XL.
Made from concrete with a rubber silicone bottom, this pendant lamp is unique and industrial with a modern touch. Designed by Renate Vos, the Concrete XL is available in several other sizes, including small ones that can be clustered together or placed over a counter.
You would think concrete may be a cold look to a room, but personally, I think it looks pretty cool and stylish! What do you think of the Concrete XL?

A few years ago, Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola designed a collection of rugs for Gandia Blasco called Mangas that were various patterns patchworked together into different shapes. Now she’s expanded on the collection with Mangas Space , a series of modular seating pieces and rugs that can be mixed up in a multitude of arrangements. Much like the rugs, they look like large knitted sweaters in a menagerie of patterns, textures, and colors that make you want to curl up and get cozy. The collection features seating modules, square and rectangular poufs, large and small rectangular rugs, and square rugs. The collection is being presented at Maison&Objet in Paris from January 18th – 22nd, 2013.

Inspired by flower stems, Giorgio Biscaro designed these colorful glass vases with interior “stems” that serve to hold the roots. Made of glass in a simple cylidrical shape, each vase holds a colorful, root-shaped vase inside made of blown borosilicate glass. They’re reversible in the sense that you can flip one over and use the single stem for a solitary flower, or turn it upside down and place flowers around the colorful center. The Roots Vases can be bought in Milan at the Design Gallery Luisa Delle Piane . Photo by Andrea Basile Studio

It’s been a busy few weeks and all I can think about is sitting in the warm sun relaxing. Which brought to me to some ideal outdoor seating that I wouldn’t mind having for myself!
I wouldn’t mind an outdoor spot where I could lounge, lay out, swim, grill and have dinner. Many of the gorgeous outdoor spaces you see have fancy pools and waterfalls, which ill agree are beautiful but I think there are many other elements that make an outdoor space amazing. Like the seating area!!
What do you think about outdoor seating? Do any of these spaces catch your eye?

If you spend any amount of time stuck behind a desk, chances are you’ve put a lot of thought into what kind of chair you’re sitting in, whether it’s because you love the one you have or it’s horribly uncomfortable and you need a new one (that would be me). Luckily there are companies like Teknion that have your back, quite literally, with office chairs like their latest, the Responsive Back Technology (RBT) Task Chair . This chair not only supports the user’s back, it actually resembles it by looking like a rib cage or spinal column. Its goal is to encourage proper posture by actually conforming to the user’s back. As someone who looks like their head is close to their desktop by day’s end from sitting too long with no support, it’s nice to know that there’s a chair that continues to adjust to your back all day in hopes of keeping your posture where it’s supposed to be

Last week we talked about finding the perfect sofa. This week I’m kicking myself in the butt for opening Pinterest and finding the most amazing sofa that I would never be able to peel myself off of.
Isn’t it gorgeous? It makes me want to throw away my current sofa, even though I love it so much I think I might love this one more. Isn’t that terrible? I feel like I’m cheating on my sofa!
Anyway, more about the sofa. The sofa you see above is the Soho Tufted Upholstered Daybed from Restoration Hardware. I’ve never really been a Restoration Hardware person, especially seeing some of the strange things they’ve been coming out with in recent years, but this makes up for it.
Of course, the price isn’t cheap [even on sale!] but I think this sofa would likely last a lifetime. Would you get tired of its large seat? Possibly, but you could always put it in the basement for guests to sleep on. I can’t see that happening though – I see it adding dramatic effect to a large living room.
What do you think about this tufted sofa? Are you in love as I am??
