Another Ceramic Candlestick by Marie Dessuant for Another Country

Another Ceramic Candlestick designed by Marie Dessuant for the British furniture brand Another Country  was launched during the London Design Festival . Each candlestick, which is made of a ceramic lid on a turned oak base, sits atop a box that can be used for storage or keeping belongings safe. I love that they resemble pots and pans, but also are reminiscent of old-timey candleholders. Modular Seating by Studio Lawrence

Furniture designers Patrick de Louwere and Bart Eijking of Studio Lawrence exhibited To Gather , an ingenious modular seating system at the London Design Festival last month in six new Kvadrat coverings. The British debut follows the product’s premier at the Interieur show in Belgium last year , where the Dutch duo put forth the forms upholstered in a dozen different shades of 100% wool felt. Pinch by Charlie Crowther-Smith

British designer Charlie Crowther-Smith (who you may remember from the popular Night Light Table ) sent me over a new coffee table he created called Pinch. It gets its name because of the way the table top is clasped — or pinched — by the legs. The table is made of mesquite with bright green legs. © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook

Pianos Everywhere!

photo

This is the coolest thing I have seen in while. British artist Luke Jerram brings “Play Me, I’m Yours” to NYC! This touring project makes sixty pianos available to play all across the city. All in public places and available to anyone!

From now until July 5th and from 9am until 10pm each day. They are located in parks, streets, and plazas. For all of the locations of the pianos and to upload pictures of yourself enjoying them check out their site here. It’s as fun as it sounds!
