Refinished and Reloved Furniture by Revitalized Artistry

Christopher White of Revitalized Artistry is currently in school but on the side he specializes in taking old mid-century furniture and giving it a second chance. I love the stain and color choices that he’s used for these pieces. Can you believe those are the original geometric pulls? You can’t look at this chandelier and not be impressed.  This amazing light is hand-made and transforms dynamically, illuminating as it changes shape.   This inspiring piece, called the Yakuza Lou, is the work of artist Eddy Sykes and is intended as a classic chandelier for a new century.  Who knows… maybe the Yakuza Lou will one day be the standard.

McGuire for Kohler Interiors

I love these new kitchen pieces by McGuire for Kohler Interiors . The designs are so simple and would look stunning in a mid-century home. I really like the table base above, which also comes in a slew of rattan finishes. These pieces ain’t cheap, but they’ll last a lifetime (or more). ©2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook More Milk: Art Milk | Dog Milk

New from Heath Ceramics

Mid-century pottery brand Heath Ceramics is back with a new summer 2010 collection sure to bring a pop of color to your table. Following Heath’s long tradition of hand-dipped experimental and unique glazes, this collection consists of four new pieces and items from the company’s classic line. The whole collection includes a pitcher, deep serving bowl, two platters, and a set of vases. Since this year is supposed to be the year of turquoise, Heath’s brought together the colors of the beach: aqua, yellow, and “ocean pacific,” perfect for summer.
