DIY: Gift Wrap and Labels
November 16th, 2011 — Designer Stuff
Every where you turn, everyone’s talking about the holidays! There are tons of DIYs for decorations and centerpieces, but how about gift wrap? I like the thought of personalizing paper. Wouldn’t you feel even more special if you received a gift with DIY wrapping paper? I certainly would, and I think it would definitely add even more to the joys of gift giving.
In the latest issue of Sweet Paul Magazine, there are plenty of great and easy ideas for creating your own gift wrap. All you need is plain wrapping paper and you can likely use many things that you have – such as crayons, paint, stamps, craft paper, markers – to create your own work of art.
Then, of course, there’s the labels! I’m loving these DIY glitter labels from Ambrosia Creative. They look easy to make and add the perfect amount of sparkle!
Will you be making your own wrapping paper and / or labels this holiday season?

Teanest Table and Chairs by Jody Leach
November 16th, 2011 — Design
The Teanest Compact Table and Chairs by Jody Leach has two chairs that nest inside of the table to save space. It’s a great setup for small kitchens or dining spaces, just enough for two to enjoy a meal or cup of coffee and serve as storage or prep space when not in use. So Pinteresting: Tufted Goodness
November 16th, 2011 — Designer Stuff
I don’t know which I love more: Pinterest or tufted furniture. Luckily, today I got to combine the two together!
How plush is that tufted green sofa? I love how even the interiors of the armrests are tufted. And how about that turquoise tufted ottoman? I think I am drawn to this for the same reason I am drawn to the sofa – the tufting continues around the ottoman as it does throughout the sofa. You can never have too many tufts!
Which probably means I should tuft every wall in my house like the next image. I would probably even tuft the backsplash in my kitchen if I could!
And, oh that purple tufted headboard. A tufted headboard is one thing, but that purple?! Ooh la la. (PS that post is a DIY on how to make your own tufted headboard!)
Do you love tufts as much as I do? Or could you do without?

Recipe Radar: Pastas
November 15th, 2011 — Designer Stuff
Today’s recipes to keep on your radar are all about pasta – in case you hadn’t noticed! I turned to Pinterest to start scoping out some pasta recipes, but there were far too many that looked far too delicious. So, I decided to include four of my absolute favorites. When I crave pasta, these four recipes are always what I crave.
1) Pasta all’Amatriciana
2) Pesto Pasta
3) Summer Pasta
4) Pasta with Vodka Sauce
Aside from the vodka sauce, these pastas are quick and easy to make. The recipe listed here is rather quick, but the one I like to make typically takes a few hours.
What is your favorite pasta recipe to make?

Parisian designer Ionna Vautrin ‘s products are as cute as she is. I was lucky enough to spend two days with the designer in Venice last month, while visiting the corporate headquarters of lighting company Foscarini . Vautrin has designed two lamps for them (so far), including the best-selling Binic , which she named after a lighthouse in Brittany where she grew up
