Patrick Carmody and Kfir Shetrit of OCD Furniture , located in Minnesota, have created a puzzle of a table. The Mudo Table was born from the idea to make a crafted table using as little waste as possible. Made of masonite with a plastic laminate on both sides, the pieces were nested as closely together as possible and then cut out with a CNC router. The pieces fit together with a notch and overall build a nice-looking table base for a glass top

Makoto Azuma collaborated with Herman Miller to create this custom Aeron chair covered in green AstroTurf, a type of artificial grass. The chair’s functional parts, like the wheels and knobs are left uncovered for easy operation. The chair will be on display at the Tokyo Herman Miller store this summer.

SUITE New York ’s The Pink Swan Project is a series of chairs designed by 18 internationally-recognized designers, which will be auctioned off to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) . Donated by Fritz Hansen , the Swan chairs will be auctioned on Charitybuzz.com during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While the auction runs, a weekly rotation of chairs will be on display in the Gagosian Shop on Madison Avenue while the rest of the chairs rest in SUITE New York’s showroom on Park Avenue. At first the owner of the home said they reminded her of Willy Wonka, but then loved them at the end. What do you think?

Materials: Ikea Lack Side Table, Sisal Rope, Hot glue gun, E600 Description: I have an Ikea Lack side table that the Mr. and I bought years ago when we were just starting out and had no furniture. It was headed for the dumpster, when I thought it would be perfect if it was covered in sisal rope. This project took a good amount of time, and my fingers are sore and burnt, but it in the end it was absolutely worth it. Supplies: table, sandpaper, 2 packages 1/4″ x 100 feet sisal rope, 3 packages 3/8″ x 50 feet sisal rope, E600 adhesive and a hot glue gun with a ton of hot glue sticks (mine is a mini one and I used over 100 sticks!) Start out by lightly sanding the entire table and then wipe it off with a damp cloth (in a well ventilated area) I started with the legs (sorry, I forgot to take pictures of this step) and used the hot glue gun to stick the rope on the bottom of the leg with a side that will be facing inside to the table.
