Materials: MALM chest of drawers, BILLY bookcase Description: My girlfriend wanted an entertainment center where she couldn’t see any of the DVD’s. Also, more space for pictures. The center is an as-is MALM 6-drawer chest of drawers. For the side units, we combined a MALM 3-drawer chest of drawers and a BILLY book case. They’re the exact same width, so it looks like it’s one piece of furniture

Materials: Klippan footstool, wood sofa legs, metal mounting plates Description: The tube metal legs have always been my least favorite part of my Klippan loveseat and footstools. (I liked them even less when I saw the cool angled wooden legs that first came with the sofa in the 1970s: http://vimeo.com/5821682) I will admit, I probably spent just as much time online researching how to do this hack than I did actually putting it together. Online I was able to find some shapely turned wood furniture legs rather cheaply, which would give a cool ‘minimalist cottage’ look to my footstools. I was expecting to have to switch out the hanger bolts for metric ones

Materials: NORDEN Gateleg table; EKBY TRYGGVE, Shelf (3x); FABLER, Box (set of 3); BEHANDLA, Wood treatment oil Description: My wife and I have been looking for a diaper-changing table that could be easily converted – back and forth – from/ into a functional furniture for quite a while. In particular we didn’t want to buy an expensive, specialized changing table: the products available, even the ones offering “converted from/ to chest”, e.g. IKEA’s LEKSVIK Cabinet or HEMNES Chest, didn’t fit our expectations as we’d end up with yet another piece of furniture. In addition, most of the changing tables wouldn’t fit style-wise either
. In the end I decided to hack our existing NORDEN Gateleg table

Khouri Guzman Bunce Limited has launched a line of handcrafted American furniture at their new showroom in Chelsea’s Gallery District. The line is modern but executed in materials and utilizing methods associated with older levels of craftsmanship. My favorite piece is the Mayweather Sofa

An exclusive release from Modernica , the Half-Nelson Lamp is a magnum opus from the innovative George Nelson Office, circa 1950. Originally made for a large-scale design project, the Holiday House, the lamp had always been a prototype until 1977 when Koch & Lowy, an American lighting company, put it into production until the mid-80s. Now, it’s back and it can be yours. Composed of a cylinder, a rod, and discus, the Half-Nelson Lamp is made of black powder-coated aluminum with a stem of chromed aluminum. The underside of the pivoting disc is white
