TEEbooks by Mauro Canfori

TEEbooks is a new wall system that becomes invisible when books and other items are placed on it. From the designer: Tee, in the words of a golfer is the T-shaped support that is stuck into the ground on which the ball is placed to get started on golfing. It is driven into the ground to make it almost invisible. It is of a fundamental importance, but only as a support “to serve the ball.” I designed TEEbooks following the same principle, a shelf meant to enhance books, DVDs or CDs, in a simple and discreet spirit. When books are placed on the shelf, it becomes invisible and attention is only focused on “our friends”, the books, DVDs and CDs.

Be Cheeky

cheeky

It’s easy to be cheeky with the Cheeky Boxes. These bold modular storage units are made from wood in a unique interlocking shape. With one diagonal side, the shape of the Cheeky Boxes allows for endless possibilities of bookshelves and wall storage units. Depending on the space you have, create a small unit or a bookshelf that utilizes the entire wall.

Designed by Lucie Koldova for Process, the Cheeky Boxes are available in soft, pastel colors that contribute brightness to any room. How would you sauce up your home with the Cheeky Boxes?

Magisso Now Available in Colors

The Magisso Cake Server was a big hit when we posted it late last year and now they’ve lowered the price and launched a plastic version available in a few fun colors . This simple tool, designed by Finnish art and design student Maria Kivijärvi, slices cakes into the perfect single slice. Just cut and then squeeze the handle to keep the cake slice intact until it reaches your plate

LikeSeat

via cultmodern

For those you love, you sit in a loveseat. For those you just like, here’s the LikeSeat.

Designed by L John Andrew, the LikeSeat is an outdoor seat with a modern steel base. The seat is constructed of hundreds of washers that L John Andrew welded together. Such a common household item is glamorized into a beautiful outdoor LikeSeat! To me, they look like beautiful enlarged sequins.

Do you love the LikeSeat?

Strip Ease

While the name may sound a bit scandalous, the Strip Ease itself is quite wholesome. The name comes from the single strip of recycled steel that the Strip Ease is made of. Designed by Italian architects Mark Lana and Alberto Savettiere of Lana + Savettiere, the Strip Ease is a piece of multifunctional furniture meant for the outdoors.

The Strip Ease can be used in four different ways: bicycle rack, garbage can, bench, and vase.

What would you use the Strip Ease for?

Enzo Outdoor Furniture

MN*LS Creative Consultancy was asked to design modular outdoor furniture for the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna, after the previous pieces, “Enzis” were destroyed in a fire. Enzo is the next evolution of Enzis, with added resistance to damage and fire-resistant technology. MN*LS consulted with PPAG, the designers of the original Enzis furniture. I really like the stackability aspect of these pieces

I’m really excited about this week’s Friday Five , which is from Vern Yip — award-winning architectural and interior designer and HGTV’s Design Star Judge. I am obsessed with fine art photography. From the first time a private client enlisted my help in starting a fine art photography collection, I was smitten.
