We’ve talked about a lot of pieces designed with the use of LEGOs in the past. But, this LEGO boardroom table by abgc Architects is one of the coolest. A recently-formed advertising agency, Boys and Girls, commissioned abgc to create a comfortable, modern space in a Georgian building. The proposal also included a 4′x9′ boardroom table design made entirely of LEGOs, complete with the company’s logo embedded into the tabletop. The table consists of 22,742 pieces clicked together with traditional LEGO construction techniques (no glue), a 136-mm grommet is located in its center.

The style of David Stine is a fusion of sustainability and classic American flair. Each of his designs are made using only carefully-selected wood from trees that have reached the end of their lifespans. The Sycamore Round table pictured above looks more like a polished version of a tree stump you’d see in a forest! Mathew Bench A coffee table-like piece with a black cherry single board top and a base constructed out of American black walnut. Pine Cant Bench A bench made out of a single block of white pine

This stunning pendant is part of Moonbasket, a project started by designer and artist Dani Le Roy from Cape Town. This community based project involves a dynamic team of people and all natural materials like string and braids made from cotton and jute.
The unique quality of each of these lamps combines with their simple, honest look to create their luxurious appeal. In fact, the artists’ idea was to emphasize the point that crochet is one of the few crafts that can only be done by people and not replaced by machines, and that honest handmade beauty is certainly apparent here. It’s supposed to get up to 70 degrees here this weekend, so I’m totally ready for a modern outdoor chair that I can also throw in the pool! Good thing I spotted the concept chair Summerwind by John Nouanesing over on Designspotter today. ©2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook More Milk: Art Milk | Dog Milk

ODE1647 is a new piece from Jacco Maris Design . It’s quite an impressive design, and I can see it working in a modern interior. As the name implies, the ode 1647 collection is an ode to the luxurious chandeliers of the early 17th century. The number 47 refers to the atomic number for silver. By using exciting new materials, we have created an entirely new and modern language of form.

You may have seen something like this before for wine, Out of Work (OOW) is a product specifically for you social beer drinkers. The idea was born when Barcelona-based designers Giovanna de Ávila and Joan Sunyol joined forces to create this design. Used to the Spanish tradition of “tapeo” (that’s the Spanish word for going to snack bars), they found that it was very uncomfortable to be standing at the same time with the dish and the glass in each hand. OOW holds the beer glass allowing you to carry both dish and glass with just one hand
