A few months ago, our lamp posts looked like this: As you can see, not so nice. In fact, I called them “ The Saddest Lamp Posts on the Block .” We didn’t have much budget to do anything fancy, but we knew we couldn’t continue looking at those sad, half-falling apart brick structures any longer. We discovered these great 16″x16″ patio pavers at our local home improvement store and got the keen idea to stand them on edge together to create a concrete planter.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve often wondered how Marimekko creates their vibrant fabrics. Since 1951, they’ve been making highly-recognizable and nostalgia-inducing patterns, which are printed at the Marimekko-house in Helsinki, Finland, the heart and soul of the company. In addition to the textile printing factory, the Marimekko-house also contains the headquarters with showrooms and two stores under the same roof.

The geometric-shaped Lampframe pendants are made from thin wood strips that are joined together to form triangular frames. The overall shape is formed when four of those frames are connected and then clamp around the lamp cord with the aid of magnets. Made by German designer Herr Mandel , the lights are not about hiding the bulb but rather showcasing it, as you would a picture in a frame. The fixture comes in your choice of untreated oak or oiled mahogany and can be purchased via designspray . Product design firm Studio Klass collaborated with the bathroom fixture company Azzurra Ceramica to design a simple ceramic accessory line that was made solely for the individual. The Italian companies created three pieces for the collection: a table mirror, toothbrush holder, and a jewelry container. Momento is an angled mirror that rests on the tabletop.
