Affordable, Quality Designs by Foureyes Furniture

Sometimes I just can’t help but develop a mad crush on pieces of furniture, objects, or just brands in general. foureyes furniture is one that falls in that category. Each piece is made by hand in the US (California represent!) by the owner/designer C. Sevin Salomone. When he and his wife moved in together, they realized they couldn’t afford the furniture they liked (I know the feeling!) so they took matters into their own hands and launched foureyes.

How can I use Thee, Expedit, Let Me Count the Ways…

Materials: Expedit TV Stand, Bjursta, 5″ corner braces, VESA swivel mounts, Custom Vinyl Subway Art Description: My apartment has a strange living area layout (almost pentagonal), and, being one to need my separate spaces, I wanted to create a conventional rectangular living room with a functional triangular office space. Ikea to the rescue! Given that my apartment is only 650 sq.ft and has a monstrous bedroom and walk-in closet, I needed multi-functional furniture.

Shetland Stool by Haworth

The Shetland is a playful stool from office furniture giants Haworth that takes me back to my horseback riding days. The stool is part of the new Haworth Collection and is available as a rocker or a bench and offers informal seating for your home or office. Made of wood plyform with a walnut veneer or a white painted plyform, the stool comes ready to go with wool and leather saddle accessories. And with that, I will refrain from saying giddyup, even though I just did. Share This: Twitter | Facebook | Discover more great design by following Design Milk on Twitter and Facebook .

Energy-Producing Workspace by Eddi Törnberg

The thesis project of Swedish student Eddi Törnberg heads in a direction that should be noted. Unplugged is an office that facilitates producing the energy needed to run all of our office electronics through doing everyday activities. Based on the quote “Human nature is above all things lazy” by Harriet Beecher Stowe, Törnberg’s thesis came from the belief that society as a whole lacks “the will, interest and energy to struggle to achieve a sustainable society.” So instead, Törnberg created a way around it by deriving energy from things we already do and, since we spend so much of our time working, it’s kind of brilliant.

Floral Ice Cubes

Maybe I’ve been hiding under a rock, but I had never seen flowers in ice cubes until I saw the first image above on Glitter Guide last week. As you can imagine, I’m newly obsessed and want to make these immediately! They would be the perfect added touch to a bridal or baby shower, a wedding, or just a fun dinner party. And so easy to make. [Image #4 is from Martha, who offers instructions and where to buy edible flowers and large ice cube trays]

Have you ever made floral ice cubes before?
