Gift Ideas for Father’s Day

Thank goodness someone told me it was Father’s Day this upcoming Sunday, or else I would have thought it was the following week and been completely unprepared! Since it’s only Monday, you have a few days left to pick up a gift for Sunday, or just enough time to have something shipped.

Are the fathers in your life easy to shop for? Most of the time, we just get my dad plain old ties and dress shirts, so for this gift guide, we’re staying practical but adding some fun and color to the mix.

Here’s what we’re thinking for this Father’s Day:

1 – Hot Sauce of the Month Club

2 – Olympus Stylus TG-830 Camera

3 – Movado BOLD Watch

4 – 1901 ‘Saddle Up’ Oxford Shoes

5 – The Art of Shaving Gift Set

What are gifts are you giving for Father’s Day?

Quilted

What do you think of when you think of quilted? For me, my first thought is NOT anywhere near the quilted goodness you see above. But that’s ok – there’s nothing wrong with that, right? I think it’s exciting to see a contemporary spin on certain styles, which seems to be happening with quilted styles.

Looking at these images above, the quilted look also reminds me of the iconic Chanel designs, which are classic, timeless and elegant. I wouldn’t mind a style such as that in my bedroom or living room, that’s for sure.

While typically I’ve leaned towards a classic tufted look, the quilted look is something I wouldn’t mind seeing more of. Elle Decor lists quilted as one of its upcoming trends, and that’s fine with me!

How about you – what do you think of quilted patterns in home decor?

Furbish

Since I recently just started reading the i suwanee blog, I recently just came across their store Furbish, an excellent home store in Raleigh that just expanded to the ecommerce world.

And thank goodness for that because just look at thebeautiful pale pink sofa above. [I really, really need it.]

From furniture to home accessories and clothing, Furbish has bright and bold items of all kinds. I’m so glad I stumbled upon it! What’s your favorite item from Furbish?

Purple Perfection

While browsing through Pinterest, I found that first image of plush purply goodness. I’m seriously in so love with that sofa that I can’t stop staring at it. Is that wrong? It’s so plush it looks fake! And it’s soooo purple.

So anyway, that pin lead me to the portfolio to Drake Design Associates. And the rest of the home, in the Flatiron district of New York City, is just as gorgeous. I’ve included a few images, but you can see more in their portfolio.

The use of color – mainly the purple (would you call it fushcia?) – is beautiful. And I love the colorful, geometric artwork. Especially those stripes. Such a classic and bold way to bring in more colors.

So, what do you think about all this purple?

Glittery Goodness

Is it just me or does this time of year put you in the mood for glittery goodness everywhere? From ornaments to outfits (or your whole bod if you’re feeling like the chick above), there’s never any need to skimp on the sparkles. Glam and glitz it up!

Well, at least that’s my feelings on glitter. What are yours?!
