Weekly Six: 10/28/11

Happy Halloween Weekend! Ready for your weekly dose of six different links to check out on the web?!

Let’s talk pumpkins first. Will you be carving any pumpkins this weekend? I would love for mine to look like one of these amazing pumpkins, but I know that’s wishful thinking!

Since we’re expecting a nor’easter on the East Coast, it’s the perfect weekend to cozy up on the couch while a pot of Homemade Stew cooks in the stove.

It’s a shame the weather will be bad, or else I would be planning a trip to NYC to check out C Wonder – have you heard of this new shop? It’s website should be debuting soon for those that aren’t in the area.

If you’re in the mood for a new app on the iPhone, iPad, etc – check out the Amazing Type-Writer to take you back in time.

Would you hang cement light fixtures anywhere in your home? These pendant lights have a unique, modern look.

Finally, add some sparkle to your weekend (if there isn’t any in your costume!) with these metal bowls by Grace Tan. They’re laser cut to be malleable – so you can manipulate them into whatever shape suits you.

Have you read anything you want to share this week? Hope you have a fun Halloween weekend!

So Pinteresting: Halloween Party Ideas

so-pin-halloweenparty

With Halloween just a few days away, there’s still time to plan an awesome party. Plus, there’s always Pinterest to turn to for awesome recipes and decoration ideas. So today we’ve pulled together four Pinterest-ing pins that will surely spark some inspiration for your Halloween shindig.

The first pin includes a ton of fun, free printables to add detail to your party – from soda labels to adornments for cupcakes or other finger foods.

How cute is the second pin with a pumpkin made of veggies and dip? While this would be a really great way to get kids to eat their veggies, I think its also cute and fun for adults as well. And quite easy to make !

The third pin looks absolutely disgusting, but sounds like it will taste quite delicious. It’s a Brain Hemorrhage shot, and its made using peach schnapps, Bailey’s and grenadine.

The fourth pin has even more ideas for throwing a Halloween party – such as planning ahead with music and drink recipes.

Are you throwing a Halloween party this year?

Etsy Roundup: Halloween Pillows

How do you decorate for Halloween? If you’re the type of person that switches out your pillows seasonally, we’ve got the perfect bunch for you, found on Etsy.

My mom always switched out pillows for Christmas, and I think it would be fun to do for all seasons now that I have a place of my own. It’s a fun easy way to add some festivity – and if you just buy covers, they don’t take up too much storage space.

What’s your take on seasonal pillows?
