simplehuman is a California-based company that produces top-notch household products that they call “tools for efficient living.” The line is made to make your life easier and with touch-free sensor soap pumps (goodbye germs!) and trash cans with lids that open with the wave of a hand, you’ll never look back. While widely known for their stainless steel trash cans, their simple design principles have spread through the kitchen with dish drains, canisters, and paper towel holders, all the way to the bathroom with shower caddies, plungers, and hampers.

Cuppo is a minimal wall storage design created by Osaka-based company Ideaco . Fortunately, I had the pleasure of recently meeting the founder of the company, Ichiro Haba. He founded the company on the basis of providing smart, innovative designs that are both simple and functional. Most of the products designed by Ideaco are common household items that have been re-invented with improved aesthetic and utility. Brighten up your days with flowers in your calendar. As both are common household items, they aren’t so common together.
Designed by the Jin-woog Koo of the NOTHING dESIGN Group, the Calendar with Vase is a paper calendar with a polyurethane vase in the center, available in yellow or white. About the vase, NOTHING dESIGN Group says “We know that putting flowers on calendar can change atmosphere in the house dramatically.”
The NOTHING dESIGN Group is a design group based out of Korea.

The Tunnel Series, designed by Noga Berman, is an exploration on the possibilities of privacy within household furniture. Berman focused on the “user experience” when creating the Tunnel Series, in which each person creates their own personal way to utilize the furniture.
The Tunnel Series consists of a chair, lying furniture, and wooden boxes. Each piece is made from bent metal tubes with wood etching. Elastic bands are wrapped around the frame and closed with velcro. Noga Berman is a recently-graduated designer based out of Israel. She created the Tunnel Series as a graduate project in 2010.
