Rope creates the outer edge of each mirror with a clamp made out of copper to secure it. An asymmetrical, geometric mirror that’s full of equilateral triangles? Shut up and take my money! The latest offering from Enzyma is the Gianluca Sgalippa-designed mirror called Derma and it’s full of all of those things and more. The irregular hexagonal mirror situates itself between two modules that feature fluorescent segments of color within the grooves of the triangle grid. The medium and anthracite grays of the frame not only make the blackened mirror pop, but the bright bursts of neon as well.

Materials : Svansbo table, bit of wood, 2 x raw plugs and screws, “liquid nails”, jigsaw, wall drill, paint. Description : What I love about Ikea is that their furniture is not so precious that you won’t touch it, and practical enough to be given a second chance, through reclaiming and reinvention. I had two old Svansbo coffee tables and one of them had become redundant in the flat. I don’t think Ikea makes them anymore, but if you have one and don’t know what to do with it, you can turn it into a smaller bedside table and small shelf, like I did.

European kitchen company Aster Cucine has collaborated with American design firm workshop/apd on a new kitchen line, Timeline . Timeline is a sleek and modern series that will blend in well in any modern space, but also works for traditional homes as well. Drawing on the history of craftsmanship and artisans of centuries past, Matthew Berman and Andrew Kotchen, design principals at workshop/apd, created a kitchen collection with a slightly old world look and feel for contemporary life. The collection goes beyond beautiful cabinetry: it also includes countertops and backsplash accents in the finest selection of materials including Venetian ceruse (a whitening compound used in the 16th century on human skin as well as cabinetry) applied to white oak; wire mesh inspired by French country cabinets, antique mirror glass; oxidized metal, weathered steel, and bronzed glass.
