Materials: Stranda Dresser, 3/4 plywood, 2 x 2, bendable MDF, Paint Description: I was in love with the Powell Parisian line of furniture for kids but couldn’t justify the expense. So I got creative with my Ikea Stranda dersser. I cut 4 half figure eight panels out of 3/4 inch plywood and attached them to the sides of the dressers with screws and 2 x 2’s. They’re attached with regular dry wall screws. The sides are enclosed using the bendable MDF and finishing nails

I’m currently in the middle of choosing paint colors for four rooms. My initial plan was to stay in the same saturation family to make the rooms flow together, but now I’ve hit a wall (ha!) and can’t decide on the fourth room.
So, my question is – what are your tips for choosing paint colors?! Do you worry about the rooms flowing together or just go with what you like and hope it works?

Look at that – I’m a poet and I didn’t even know it! But, you’ve got to check out this awesome ColorSnap app by Sherwin Williams.
ColorSnap enables you to take a photo of any colors that inspire you and match them to a paint color. As you can see, I’ve been inspired by the color of my manicure. So, I took a picture of my hand, touched the area of my nail that I liked the most and was instantly matched with Gladiola!
Gladiola is a little bit different, but still pretty close to my nail color! By clicking “Adjust Colors” the app gives you the option to view similar colors with different hues and saturations. For me, ColorSnap is a fun way to get inspiration for paint colors – a task that never seems to be quite easy!

Fixtures are often ignored when remodeling or redecorating your home, but why? They are the jewelry of your home. These gorgeous electrical switches and sockets called Elo were designed by Frédéric Bugnot. Distributed by French company Realitem , Elo switches are a far cry from those boring white rectangles you can get at the big box store (although I have to admit, I am guilty of owning boring rectangles). Like smooth pebbles, Elo are available in a variety of finishes and also come in push-button, two-way switch, or socket styles.
