Samuel Treindl has an interesting collection of concepts made into physical objects. Even though these are just concepts, they’d make quite useful things in everyday life. I’d love to own the clock, which provides a three-minute reserve with the minute hand! From the designer: Our everyday life is characterized by social norms and behaviour patterns. The product line “tickreich“ responds to our everyday quirks and cultivates them at the same time. We wind up a cable between hand and elbow.

Coca-Cola approached Emeco a few years back to create the 111 Navy Chair , which resembles Emeco’s classic aluminum Navy chair. The chairs are made of Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (rPET), or recycled plastic Coke bottles (111 to be exact!) and a mix of pigment and glass fiber. With these chairs, Coke wanted to prove that things other than more plastic bottles could be made using recycled plastic. The chair launched in Milan and will be sold exclusively through Design Within Reach . © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Catrina in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook More Milk: Art Milk | Dog Milk

Room Moments I / II are two rugs by Amsterdam-based designer Franziska Wernicke . From the designer: A story or moment unfolds. The dye becomes an image and communicates with its surroundings, the 2D rug as a frame of dimension. The rug opens up the dimensions of the room, playing with perspectives, 2 D and 3D and the viewers’ perception of composition and construction. The rugs can be placed on the floor or the wall.

I guess with a last name like Sit, it is fitting that Farrah Sit sent us a chair. She is a NY-based furniture designer whose new line — where fashion meets furniture. Adorned in metal jewelry chains and hand crocheted cotton by designer Kayo Shibayama , the Noir chair is modern, featuring slim accented lines of sensual proportions. Looking to marry the tactile qualities of jewelry and fashion with furniture, Farrah sought to design and create custom textile not currently found in industry to create luxury feel. The collection includes a floor lamp and side table, both adorned in dripping chains and angled blackened steel.
