Have you ever just wanted to move your bed outside so that you could sleep under the stars? Or, so you can pretend you’re camping without having to sleep on the ground? Luckily Milan-based designer Patricia Urquiola has created something where you can do just that. The Kettal Cottage was made for the Spanish company Kettal and it’s a modern, house-shaped retreat that just screams relaxation (and my name!).

While working with a florist for my wedding next year, I came across a beautiful bouquet that she had done for a recent bride. What made it so beautiful and different was a few neatly placed succulents within the bouquet. It really looked amazing. So, that got me thinking about all of the different ways there to arrange succulents throughout your home, rather than just sticking a few in pots. Which looks great, don’t get me wrong – but it’s always fun to switch things up a bit, right?
And while a terra cotta pot looks nice, a mercury glass one looks even better! You can go vertical with your succulents and make a lovely wreath or a wall art display with them. Or, for the girly girl – stick those succulents in a high heeled planter.
I’ve been thinking about adding some succulents to my home, so maybe I’ll have to try one of these fun ways. What about you – what interesting ways have you seen succulents on display?

Milano Smart Living is about to take the US by storm with their high end, Italian-made furniture that is perfect for anyone looking to save on space. Multifunctional furniture is where it’s at for city dwellers and anyone living in tight quarters. Even if you’re not, dual-purpose furniture is a smart way to get more bang for your buck. One of my favorites is their Minuetto table. It starts out as a console table but quickly transforms into a large dining table big enough to seat 10 people

Materials: Expedit TV stand, Velcrostraps, door pull handles Description: This is not much of a hack, but a easy simple way to anchor items to the wall. I had my TV go up in smoke thus I had to buy a new one and thus a new entertainment center to put it in.

I found these candleholders on MocoLoco, and unfortunately they’re just a preview of what will be showcased by Gaia & Gino at Maison & Objet in Paris this month. I say unfortunately because I want to see more!
These beautiful candleholders are Double Herkimer Candleholders, by Arik Levy, which are made from the Herkimer crystal, a clear quartz found in Herkimer County, NY. I didn’t even know such a crystal existed, did you?
Either way, I’ll be keeping my eyes out for these candleholders – and the rest of the collections from Gaia & Gino, which includes new pieces from Karim Rashid and more. What do you think of these Herkimer Candleholders?

Reminder is the name of a dresser designed by Kazuaki Hibino that attempts to address the problems of memory. Sometimes finding the things we need in drawers can be problematic, even when we think we know what is in each drawer. This unit has specially-shaped drawers that play a memory game of sorts… the shapes define the content of the drawers and you make an association of that shape with its contents.
