The design pair of osko+deichmann are based in Berlin, Germany and create some brilliantly designed seating pieces, my faves being Plot and Pebble . Plot , which is produced by Brunner , is their latest, and it’s a modular seating system inspired by naturally cascaded forms in nature.

We’re having work done on our basement, so it’s a mess. And because the basement is a mess, I feel like everything else is a mess. Every cabinet I open, every room I walk into – I want to immediately reorganize. Almost daily I find myself scanning the fridge looking for what I can get rid of next.
Does this ever happen to you? Are you an organized person?
I forgot to mention that because our basement is a mess, so is our garage, because it got the overflow of junk to empty out the basement. Since that is a mess that can and needs to be controlled, it’s number one on the organization to do list. While I’d love for the garage and for every closet and cabinet to resemble the images above, I feel like I’ll never get there. My first move is to make a more specific list of what needs to be done and really organized, and how I’ll go about it.
How do you get [and stay] organized? If you have any tips on what works for you, please share!

Last month at ICFF , London-based industrial designer Jake Dyson (yes, his dad’s the vacuum guy) introduced his latest design to the US market, the CSYS LED task light. It’s an environmentally conscious, dimable LED lamp with a controllable light spread that uses a new heat pipe technology that lasts for 35 years.

I just came across this simple yet fabulous DIY on from {panka} with love. All it takes is a few jars and some glow in the dark paint and you’ve got a beautiful nighttime display.
Some commenters on panka’s page suggested that paints from Michael’s were not strong enough, so they suggested buying paints here and here. I love the look of the dots, but I’m not sure that I would have the patience to paint that many small ones inside of such a large jar. Perhaps I’d try some swirls or stripes? Or maybe I’d use a q-tip instead of a paint brush. Whatever I decide to do, I know they’ll look amazing on my outdoor table or on the counter inside!
Will you be making these? What type of design would you do on the inside?

Recent graduate Roland Beaven created the Peaucellier Lamp to show appreciation for “the beauty and tangibility of mechanisms.” The lamp pays homage to the Peaucellier straight-line linkage mechanism that was invented in 1864 and turns circular motion into linear motion. The ball on the right is filled with sand and acts as a counterweight and can be moved up and down to adjust the height of the lamp. I love that the lamp looks great in any position it’s adjusted. The following post is brought to you by 2Modern . Our partners are hand-picked by the Design Milk team because they represent the best in design. So it’s pretty warm out there now. I’ve been enjoying my backyard – the flowers are blooming and the leaves are nice and green. I’m taking more walks with the dogs and babe and spending weekends at the Jersey Shore.
