I came across this image the other day on SF Girl by Bay and I’ve gone back numerous times just to stare at it. It’s just so fun and whimsical and perfect. It’s not just the ceiling that’s perfect, but everything about the white walls and the color parallel within the bedding.

Yorkshire-based furniture designer and maker Anthony Hartley describes himself as a “jumped up joiner” who started drawing and designing furniture while he was supposed to be doing other things at school and then never really stopped. For this month’s Deconstruction , Hartley walks us through the design and production process of his new range of dining and occasional furniture, called Cable. The pieces are made from clean and simple MDF or ply template shapes, sprayed in Hartley’s trademark strong color palette. The innovation comes in the joining of the templates, which uses multicolored cable ties to secure them, and which can be easily assembled without tools. Customers can order a matching set, a single base color with a mix of accents, or a completely custom colorway.

Dis(order) Furniture is a modular furniture system, designed by Sanjin Halilovic , that is multifunctional, adaptable, and most of all, playful and quirky. Geometric shapes make up each piece of white furniture trimmed in red, yellow, green, and black, making the shapes even more striking. Hailing from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Halilovic was inspired by puzzles — mainly the tangram — and created the collection around the name Dis(order); the outer parts of the pieces reflect the order.

Materials: Lack side table, metal frame Description: For quite a while I've been crushing on side tables with thin metal frames/legs. I like the industrial-chic look, the juxtaposition of the warm wood and metal, and the fact that the streamlined design helps make any small space appear larger. Since furniture stores where I live don't carry these styles, I decided to repurpose my 4 yr old Lack side table to create a similar look.

Swedish design studio Form Us With Love and Spanish stone company Cosentino Group collaborated on the Silestone Slab Vases that were presented at Stockholm Design Week’s Form Us With Friends exhibition. The purpose behind the collaboration was to break away from typical Silestone that comes in the form of a slab and instead look at the material in a whole new way. The watertight vases consist of Silestone rings that slip over a 16-inch tall metal stand. The rings are cut into various sizes, colors, and finishes giving the vase a unique look depending on how they are stacked. The look of the vase can change at anytime just by changing how the rings are assembled
