Instructables member Makendo created a chest of drawers that resembles a Rubik’s cube. Using lazy susans, he created the Rubik’s cube twisting effect. Now, the trick is to try to find the drawers! Istanbul-based design studio Karre Design ‘s most recent release is the Rumi Armchair, designed by Turkish sculptor and designer Sadi Ozis in 1964. Forgotten for almost 50 years, the chair is now given a second life thanks to Karre. Inspired from Sufi dervishes of the Mevlevi order also known as whirling dervishes, the Rumi chair’s name comes from the Sufi mystic Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi whose teachings have become the base of the order.

The Fly Wing Flapper by Dutch industrial designer Ramon Middelkoop , who teaches product design at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, is a plastic fly swatter with a lacy design that echoes the pattern of the annoying insects’ wings. While it’s certainly better looking than the typical hardware store variety of swatter, we wonder if the openings are a tad too large for an average-sized pesky housefly. Still, we applaud the effort to elevate the mundane.

Happy Halloween Weekend! Ready for your weekly dose of six different links to check out on the web?!
Let’s talk pumpkins first. Will you be carving any pumpkins this weekend? I would love for mine to look like one of these amazing pumpkins, but I know that’s wishful thinking!
Since we’re expecting a nor’easter on the East Coast, it’s the perfect weekend to cozy up on the couch while a pot of Homemade Stew cooks in the stove.
It’s a shame the weather will be bad, or else I would be planning a trip to NYC to check out C Wonder – have you heard of this new shop? It’s website should be debuting soon for those that aren’t in the area.
If you’re in the mood for a new app on the iPhone, iPad, etc – check out the Amazing Type-Writer to take you back in time.

Latvian designer Arthur Analts created a step ladder called Led Zeppelin (an obvious nod to Stairway to Heaven) that solves a problem – getting into corners. Led Zeppelin can be placed in three different positions: leaned straight against the wall, placed 45° against the room corner or 25° against the corner. There are also special cuts at the end of the ladder steps to hang a dusting cloth or put tools.
