How do you decorate for Halloween? If you’re the type of person that switches out your pillows seasonally, we’ve got the perfect bunch for you, found on Etsy.
My mom always switched out pillows for Christmas, and I think it would be fun to do for all seasons now that I have a place of my own. It’s a fun easy way to add some festivity – and if you just buy covers, they don’t take up too much storage space.

Materials: Perfekt Abstrakt High gloss grey panels, wood framing Description: I made this headboard from Ikea’s high gloss kitchen panels. The panels come in 24×80″ so I used 2 horizontally with one above the other so as to not have to cut and re-edgeband them. I ripped four 1″ thick and 30″ long vertical strips from 2×4’s to connect the 2 panels together and spaced them evenly along the back. I then ripped longways two 2×4’s with my table saw blade on a 30 degree angle and trimmed them to 60″ long. I mounted one half of each 2×4 to the wall and the other half on the top and bottom backside of the headboard

Design legend Ross Lovegrove was the keynote speaker at this year’s IDSwest conference in Vancouver and our correspondent Aaron De Simone of I HEART LUXE sat down with Ross to talk about what he’s up to, balance, self-doubt, and the never-ending design to-do list. Lovegrove’s first solo show in Italy, Endless , recently opened at Cardi Black Box gallery in Milan, featuring fine art works deriving from Lovegrove’s personal research brought forward with the Liquid Collection, which was included in the exhibition Endurance at Phillips De Pury in New York back in 2007.

As part of the DMY 2011 Asia Exhibition tour , which presents innovative German design objects and products at seven different fairs and festivals in Asia, Adam+Harborth will show their Babel paper holder, available in two sizes. The small size is a desktop version, holding small papers, business cards, and other manageable notes. The large Babel can hold newspapers and catalogs, and it can even function as a stool.
