Anneau is a chair designed by Pierre Paulin from the 2010 Ligne Roset collection. It combines a simple ring base and a seat that seems to be floating. Anneau is evocative of Paulin’s “fauteuil 780,” also known as “Concorde.” One of his last creations, Anneau redefines the concept of the traditional lounge chair. The webbed suspension on the seat and back lie above a sculptural and sensual cast aluminum base, linked only by a doubled steel ring, resulting in a much lighter, almost ethereal design.

Binary code may be useful, but creative is not a word usually associated with it. The Notus Chair challenges that, though, with its high-tech look inspired by none other than binary code.

The Notus Chair’s design is created from a sole laser-cut steel plate, which is then folded into the shape of the chair. In addition to its unique inspiration, this chair is also intriguing because no hardware is used in its construction. This give it a visually light appearance, while also making its production simple. See more here.

Italian designer Eugenia Minerva has created Petalo , a modern valet for Czech manufacturer Ton . Surprisingly, this submission comes just a few days after I posted the very first modern valet here on Design Milk. Created with the wood bending technique, Petalo is a very functional coat hanger: whilst looking simple and smart, in fact, provides much more space than a classical silent servant. It reminds me of a Thonet chair . © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings , Style & Fashion | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook More Milk: Art Milk | Dog Milk

This bookshelf designed by Manuel Welsky makes me slightly nervous for some reason. The shelves look like they’ve dealt with some shaking up by a disaster, but this design ensures that the piece is able to resist the weight of many books.

The Sarrafo Coffee Table by Notus Design is made from a variety of industrial waste wooden slats called “sarrafos” and the variation they produce is the essence of the piece’s beauty. The mixture of wood has references to the cultural and ethnic mix of Brazil. © 2010 Design Milk | Posted by Catrina in Home Furnishings | Permalink | No comments | Tweet This | Share on Facebook More Milk: Art Milk | Dog Milk
