Today I bring you some intriguing product design from Joel Escalona. You may have heard of him before, but if not there’s no time like the present to check out his inspiring and unique work. On his website, Escalona says that he “loves to create smart storytelling concepts which turn ordinary objects into everyday wonders,” and I think that’s both a great thing to aspire to and an accurate summary of his work

Is it a table or is it a lamp? The correct answer is lamp, although the shape of the lamp does resemble a table, which I found to be pretty amusing. In fact I think it would be pretty interesting visually to use this table lamp on a table.

Iohanna Pani’s Form Follows Function contains this particularly lovely mug. I really like this; it reminds me of topographic maps or the sides of a canyon. http://iohidesign.carbonmade.com Related posts: Magnolia House in Japan by Form/Kouichi Kimura Architects Uni Form Furniture ©2009 Design Milk | Posted by Jaime in Home Furnishings | Permalink | 4 comments Sponsored Topics: Form Follows Function – Jaime – Topographic map – Mug – Shopping

Have you heard of Julien Carretero? I just recently came upon his work and was instantly intrigued. Among my favorites is his To Be Continued Series. Consisting of a bench, coffee table, cabinet, and side board, the goal of this collection is to create recognizable uniqueness within a series that is being mass produced.

Oscar Cederwall from Bålsta, Sweden converts the Bonde TV Add-on into a handsome sideboard. Oscar says, “I did this hack a couple of years ago. The color of my Bonde side board is not available any more as far as I know. The main reason for why I decided to build my own side board from Bonde is because I liked the frosted glass doors and I really like the CD drawers for the Bonde series. I don’t think there is anything like them in any other Ikea series.

What do you think of this? New from Italian furniture company Edra, the Cipria Settee is defiantly the focal point of any room. Designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana , this sofa recently made its debut at Salone Di Mobile Milano. It’s definitely different, but at the same time I’d kind of like to be sitting on it right now.
