The April issue of Elle Decor arrived in my mailbox last night, but I didn’t even have a chance to look through it yet.
I did, however, have a five minute love session with that gorgeous blue velvet sofa on the cover. Even my living room noticed the cover and started begging me for a sofa that looks just like it! (Too corny?!)

San Francisco-based Soft Cities creates blankets and napkins, or Mapkins as they call them, which feature a map with a location of your choice. The company then prints your map with special markers that you’ve chosen (like “I was here” or “Mom’s house”) and prints them locally on a soft fleece for the blankets or 100% Kona cotton for the napkins. They are completely customizable and the options are endless

Gore Design Co. calls themselves “purveyors of fine concrete” but I call them artists. It takes a lot of skill to make a sink that leaves a long-lasting impression. Box 1-7 , created by Finnish designer Pekka Kuivamäki, is one nifty shelving system. Each box fits inside of each other like Russian nesting dolls. Barcelona-based BeaMalevich launched the easily assembled modular shelf to contrast the shape of every other shelf out there.
