The Wedding Stool By DEDE DextrousDesign

DEDE DextrousDesign is the Athens, Greece-based industrial design team of Aliki Rovithi and Foant Asour. The duo’s unorthodox and innovative thinking led to the creation of  The Wedding Stool . Their idea to join industrial metal and warm wood was inspired by the institution of marriage and to bring the pieces together in, as they say, “holy matrimony.” The easily removable metal piece acts as a carrying handle and can be customized in your favorite color. Placard&Nous Trompe L’oeil Decals

Placard&Nous is a French brand that makes trompe l’oeil decals for appliances and cabinetry. They made me smile. They are currently only made for European-sized appliances, but hopefully there will soon be US sizes available. Friday Five with Ionna Vautrin

Parisian designer Ionna Vautrin ‘s products are as cute as she is. Vautrin has designed two lamps for them (so far), including the best-selling Binic , which she named after a lighthouse in Brittany where she grew up

Petroglyph Collection by Nucleo

Nucleo is presenting the Petroglyph collection in the first edition of PAD New York, through Gallerie Secondome. Using scrap materials sourced by the Nucleo Laboratory, the wooden tables and chairs have been assembled in layers to create striated forms. Additional timber boards are used to create screenprints with quotes inspired by Fyodor Dostoyevsky – celebrating beauty as the only form of salvation. “Salvation in a double sense, the message hidden inside, the soul, and in the re-used material, the body, visible to all.” The exhibition will run November 11-14, 2011.

The 64DF is the first of an array of new products coming out in 2012 from New Breed Furniture Network . The company launched a year ago with a full line of made-in-the-USA tables and chairs, known as the Petalply Series . The series is now being expanded to include desks, shelving, dressers, nightstands, media consoles and credenzas. The 64DF desk speaks the language of cantilevers that make the piece feel light, though it is crafted from solid wood
