Magic by David Fox
November 17th, 2011 — Design
David Fox launched the Magic stool for Boss Design , a seating element in the shape of a mushroom. Inspired by fungi, the stool is both fun and functional with a sturdy steel base and an upholstered top. I would love to see an entire room of these in random shapes and sizes, mimicking how mushrooms behave in nature. Teanest Table and Chairs by Jody Leach
November 16th, 2011 — Design
The Teanest Compact Table and Chairs by Jody Leach has two chairs that nest inside of the table to save space. It’s a great setup for small kitchens or dining spaces, just enough for two to enjoy a meal or cup of coffee and serve as storage or prep space when not in use. Deconstruction: Pfeiffer Lab
November 15th, 2011 — Design
For this month’s Deconstruction , Design Milk went behind the scenes with Pfeiffer Lab . Led by product designer Eric Pfeiffer, Pfeiffer Lab produces such contemporary classics as the brightly colored plastic Tiki Stools and the round child-sized Chalkboard Table with sunken stainless steel bin. They take us (virtually) to AMAC, a Petaluma, California-based manufacturing company, to show us the production process of the Rhombins . Introduced this year and designed by company head Eric Pfeiffer along with Scot Herbst, it’s a modular, three-piece desk storage solution that can be arranged in numerous configurations. The Rhombins are made from Cereplast, a plant-based plastic that requires a one-ton stainless steel injection molding production tool.

Metro by Luca Nichetto
November 15th, 2011 — Design
Metro is a seating collection designed by Italian designer Luca Nichetto for Italian company Emmegi . I’m drawn to the two tones of the seat – usually I am not a big fan of two-tone seating but this is appealing. In Italian, a metro is a measuring stick, and the Metro sofa embodies this idea of measurement through the multiple modules – defined by color. Primavera Vase
November 14th, 2011 — Design
Reuse your old water bottles for something beautiful… The Primavera vase is just a silhouette that fits a standard water bottle instead of a glass vase to hold a single flower.
