Rolf Sachs: in-pulse!

Inspired by the motion and sound of breathing and the beating of the human heart, Rolf Sach’s recent installation at Studio Visconti in Milan focuses on the primary physiological mechanisms of the human body. Sachs created sculptural furniture and lighting pieces that have been infused with human emotions and attributes, creating a collection of unique and individually crafted objects that can form part of your everyday environment and will continually surprise and awaken the viewers’ senses. The Numi Toilet by Kohler

When I opened my email and saw the Numi toilet from Kohler , I let out a little gasp. A square toilet! This is like my dream come true. Launching stateside and China this week at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) , Kohler’s space-saving Numi is offering homeowners a host of new toilet innovations to consider like a heated seat, built-in bidet, deodorizer, iPod/MP3 player dock, and even a foot warmer(!) I think they’ve thought of everything with this design… and they’re marketing it nicely, too with a prefab pavilion booth design created by Marmol Radziner .

Tusse

Tusse is a Portuguese art and design brand launched at this year’s Salone in Milan that will bring a new flavor to any luxurious interior. This cabinet is like a stained glass window on all four sides, reflecting the light like a gemstone. This irreverant piece is like Gothic-meets-Romantic-meets-a-boulder. This piece is like an ancient jewel box covered in a high-gloss.
