I’ve fallen hard for the work of Swedish design student Annika Göransson , whose two seats Ostrea and Mosaiik are some of the more interesting pieces I’ve seen thus far in 2011. Mosaiik is her most recent work, exhibited recently at the Stockholm Furniture Fair . I can’t wait to see more from her. David Taylor presented new lighting objects — a pendant and a candlestick series — at the Biologiska Museum during Stockholm Design Week as part of the fringe event ”20 Designers at Biologiska.” Point has been named after the place where the land runs out and the water begins, a pendant lamp that borrows it’s characteristic form from its candlestick cousin Dot. Plastic, paper and hemp each play a role in the construction and look of this piece. Point is a reduction, without removing the sentiment of the work, exuding a warm and welcoming generosity that is its essence. The candlestick edition Dot comprises three pieces made to work together as a group and to cooperate when used throughout a living space
